Augen GenTouch78 Android tablet

The 7 inch Augen GenTouch78 Android tablet attracted considerable media interest recently. It is not a very good tablet, but at just $150, it is one of the cheapest Android tablets available on the market at the moment. In fact, it is also one of the few tablets that are currently shipping in the US. Now Augen is back with a 10 inch Android netbook. 


The Augen GenBook 108 has a 10.2 inch display with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels. It is powered by an 800MHz ARM11-based processor with 256MB of memory and 2GB of storage. Other specifications include WiFi 802.11b/g, an SD card slot and Android 2.1. 

The GenBook 108 ships with a 2100mAh battery. It measures 1 inches in thickness and weighs 1.8 pounds. It comes standard with the usual Android apps including a web browser, media player and email app. The GenBook 108 doesn't seem to have access to the Android Market, but it does support a wide range of media formats. 

The Augen GenBook 108 is now available from KMart for $189.99.
